In order to nurture our Singaporean employees, we invited an Artificial Intelligence expert as part of our OJT

GPC operates a test marketing platform called MELO!.
In order to provide information to MELO!'s exhibitors,
we conducted a survey to investigate the traffic volume at the MELO! shop located at 111 Somerset.

To train up Singaporean employee, Jonathan Liow,
we invited an external AI engineer to participate in the project as an advisor.
They jointly developed the Traffic Survey System which used image recognition and deep learning technologies. 

According to the survey results, 
it was revealed that the traffic volume during the operating hours of 11am to 8pm was about 8000 people.
Using this system, we plan to conduct regular survey in the future and collect quantitative data, 
especially on days and timings when there is heavy traffic.

"Being able to experience firsthand working with an AI Engineer opens my mind to the world of Deep Learning. By creating a learning machine that calculates and analyzes the number of people on or off the traffic, it can help us know the time and the peak at which people would visit: setting up events can be easier, helping us to analyze people's interests, and even discovering new ways to improve revenue. Machine learning is a very broad subject, and I am honored to be able to be able to understand the basics of machine learning and how it works. This is a very good skill that I have achieved and will hope to hone it in the years to come."
